Level One & Electricity

Sometimes in one day huge things happen. One day we're sort of a battery
operated operation and the next day the electricity arrives, goes
underground, gets a meter and in no time at all we can plug in the radio, Oh
Yea! and the power tools. We really got a charge out of it.

Cement, the first pour

The sides where the daylight basement is has a foundation 4 feet below the
level of the basement. The sides where there will only be high basement
windows only has foundation to just below the basement floor. At the end of
this first cement pour the foundation was all at one hight about two feet
above the basement floor and we could really see the full outline of the
octagon. After the stumps were pulled out of the field it was just dirt and
dust. Brent seeded it with clover and timothy (a grass) that will hold the
soil and add nutients. The day after the cement, the outside of the
styrofoam got sealed with a very sticky thick contact paper, and the trench
got backfilled with dirt.

Foundation Hole and Footings

Footings filled with cement as base for first layer of Styrofoam blocks. The
blocks are put together like leggos, with spaces framed out for doors and
windows. Cement is poured down the space between the Styrofoam, prepped with
re-bar. The foundation, insulation completed and ready for interior and
exterior siding. Very green, very energy efficient.

Rebirth of a Field

The field we are clearing was a field with about 40 years growth - over
growth. Many of the older people in town remember playing baseball up in
there as children. The cutter showed us that it used to be an orchard and
it's easy to imagine someday replanting that; so many possibilities.

New Driveway, House Clearing

Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

Thank You for your feedback. I have adjusted the picture size smaller so
that communicating is swifter. These were the next step. As things cleared
away we were more, and more surprised how much we like the land. The
property began to suggest how the driveway should go around, where the
garage should be, septic, well, etc.
